Join Close Brothers Retail Team where you will support the implementation of the Retail Financial Crime Framework, and ensuring compliance with applicable AML, CTF, sanctions, fraud prevention, and regulatory requirements across the Retail businesses. Working as part of the Financial Crime team our ideal team member will have previous experience in Financial Crime, AML, Sanctions, or Financial Crime Compliance with excellent stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of escalation for complex financial crime matters across Premium, Motor, Savings, and the Channel Islands
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure decisions are risk-based, proportionate, and aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the completion and submission of REP-CRIM regulatory returns
  • Support the review, calibration, reconciliation, and validation of financial crime screening and due diligence systems.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of financial crime incidents, control failures, and risk events.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Retail Financial Crime Risk Appetite Statements, KRIs, and governance reporting.
  • Draft, review, and maintain financial crime policies, procedures, process guides, and operating standards.
  • Ensure documentation remains aligned with regulatory developments and Group Standards.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory change and industry best practice, providing advice and guidance to stakeholders.
  • Act as the key escalation point between the first line and second line of defence.
  • Receive and assess requests for information from law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE/ARE:

  • Experience within Financial Crime, AML, Sanctions, or Financial Crime Compliance within retail banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and ROI financial crime regulatory requirements, including: Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act o Criminal Justice Act, UK Sanctions Regime, JMLSG Guidance
  • Experience preparing governance papers, MI, and regulatory submissions.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make risk-based decisions and provide constructive challenge

IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU YOU HAVE/ARE:

  • ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent financial crime qualification.
  • Experience of REP-CRIM reporting.
  • Experience of World-Check, LexisNexis, Experian, transaction monitoring, and screening systems.
  • Experience operating across UK and ROI financial crime frameworks.
