St Leonard’s Hospice is recruiting a Retail Housekeeping Assistant to assist in the provision of all aspects of cleaning at the Hospice’s Income Generation site which is based at Clifton Moor, York. The Income Generation site consists of an open-plan office space, donation centre and retail shop which need to be kept safe and welcoming to our customers and staff.
About the Role
Reporting into the Retail Area Manager, as a Housekeeping Assistant you will:
- Follow the cleaning schedules to make sure that all areas are maintained to a high standard
- Be responsible for managing the cleaning products used and restocking where necessary
- Ensure the usage of all cleaning equipment is in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and Hospice policy

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience of maintaining high standards of cleaning and be able to follow cleaning schedules
- Have a good eye for detail and take pride in their work
- Have good communication skills and be courteous and respectful to others
- Be motivated to work as part of a team but able to work alone at times

Job Details
This is a part-time position working 12 hours per week, 3 days over 7. Ideally we are looking for someone to work between 10am and 12pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday however this can be discussed further at interview. The salary for this position is £8,215.68 per annum pro rata (FTE £25,674 per annum).
