Retail Installation Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Retail Installation Project Manager to join our growing Retail Services team.
The role will be responsible for managing and delivering a range of retail execution projects, including POS installation programmes, retail audits, merchandising activity, and wider retail deployment projects for national clients.
Working closely with clients, suppliers, installation partners, and field teams, the successful candidate will take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, ensuring activity is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
This role requires someone with a strong understanding of retail installation and field operations. The successful candidate will understand the practical challenges of working within live retail environments and be confident managing installation projects, contractor relationships, compliance requirements, and project delivery.
The role will involve managing both large-scale multi-site programmes and smaller ad hoc Retail Services projects, ensuring all work is delivered professionally, safely, and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of client service.
The position is primarily office-based at Linney, with travel to client sites across the UK for project meetings, site visits, and installation activity, as required.
Due to the nature of retail installations, store openings, and project delivery, there will be occasions where activity takes place outside of standard office hours, including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be expected to support projects during key installation periods and provide guidance to teams on the ground when required. Where out-of-hours working is necessary, working patterns will be adjusted accordingly to ensure this does not sit on top of the individual's normal working week.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage POS installation, audit, and merchandising projects from planning through to completion.
- Deliver large-scale installation and retail rollout programmes across multiple locations.
- Manage smaller ad hoc Retail Services projects.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and installation programmes.
- Coordinate installers, contractors, suppliers, and field teams.
- Manage project risks, issues, and client expectations throughout delivery.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Operations & Compliance
- Review installation requirements, site constraints, and project specifications.
- Ensure all activity is delivered in line with Health & Safety legislation, client requirements, and company procedures.
- Review and manage RAMS, contractor accreditations, and compliance documentation.
- Support quality assurance processes, including reviewing POS, display, and installation materials prior to dispatch.
- Monitor supplier and installer performance.
Client & Commercial Management
- Act as a day-to-day contact for clients and suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and client reviews.
- Provide project updates and reporting.
- Support the scoping and pricing of Retail Services opportunities.
- Ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery and add value for clients.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience managing retail installation, POS deployment, merchandising, or retail execution projects.
- Experience coordinating installers, contractors, suppliers, and field teams.
- Strong understanding of retail installation processes and the challenges of working within live retail environments.
- Experience managing multi-site projects from planning through to completion.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements, contractor management, and compliance processes.
- Experience managing RAMS, site-access requirements, and installation documentation.
- Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to support occasional evening and weekend installation activity when required.
- Full UK driving license.

Desirable Criteria
- Experience working for a retail installation, retail fit-out, merchandising, or POS installation business.
- Experience managing national retail rollout programmes.
- Experience working with major retail, hospitality, or leisure brands.
- Understanding of retail store operations and site constraints.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- CSCS card.
- Experience using project management and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of print production, display manufacturing, or POS fulfillment processes.
- Formal project management qualification or training.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with practical experience managing retail installation and execution projects.
The ideal candidate will come from a retail installation, retail fit-out, merchandising, POS installation, or retail services environment and be comfortable managing installers, contractors, suppliers, and field teams.
This is not a traditional marketing project management role. We are looking for someone who understands the realities of delivering retail installation programmes, can confidently manage operational challenges, and has a strong appreciation of Health & Safety, compliance, and project delivery within live retail environments.
