Role Description
This full-time, Retail Lease Advisory Surveyor role is based in London. The position focuses on advising retail and leisure landlords and occupiers on rent reviews, lease renewals, and lease restructures.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Analysing lease documents
- Preparing valuation and advisory reports
- Conducting market research
- Attending client meetings

The successful candidate will carry out site inspections regularly nationwide, so will be expected to travel. The role involves liaising / negotiating with landlords, tenants, and legal representatives, supporting agency colleagues on leasing strategies, and contributing to business development activities. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload, maintain accurate records, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery of advice.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of commercial property leasing, particularly in the retail and leisure sectors, including rent reviews, lease renewals, and lease restructuring.
- Proficiency in property valuation principles (zoning of retail properties), market research, and data analysis to support clear, evidence-based advisory reports.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with confidence in client-facing work and stakeholder management.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple instructions and meet deadlines.
- Professional qualifications such as RICS accreditation (or working towards), and a relevant degree in real estate, surveying, or a related discipline.
- Experience in retail or leisure property consultancy is highly beneficial, along with a good understanding of UK property legislation and market trends.
