We are looking for a talented and commercially minded Retail Makeup Artist who can combine exceptional artistry with genuine customer connection and strong selling skills. This role is perfect for someone who loves creating natural, wearable looks, educating customers and making beauty feel approachable rather than intimidating.
Working within a fast-paced retail environment, you will act as a true brand ambassador – bringing the products to life through application, storytelling and personalised recommendations while contributing to the commercial success of the counter.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised makeup consultations tailored to each customer's needs, lifestyle and preferences.
- Demonstrate confident makeup application across complexion, colour and multi-use products.
- Educate customers on products, application techniques and routines in an accessible and authentic way.
- Translate makeup artistry into commercial results, confidently recommending products and building complete routines.
- Work towards individual and team sales targets and KPIs, including conversion, ATV and UPT.
- Build genuine relationships with customers and encourage repeat business through strong clienteling and CRM.
- Deliver memorable customer experiences that reflect the brand's inclusive, uncomplicated approach to beauty.
- Support events, appointments, launches and in-store activations, providing makeup services and product demonstrations.
- Maintain excellent hygiene, sanitation and counter presentation standards.
- Ensure testers, products and tools are clean, organised and replenished throughout the day.
- Develop an exceptional understanding of the brand, its philosophy, product range, ingredients and application techniques.
- Support stock management, replenishment and wider day-to-day retail operations.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to achieve counter and business objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Ideal Candidate
You will be equally passionate about people, product and artistry. In return, you'll have the opportunity to represent an exciting beauty brand with a highly distinctive point of view, joining the business at an important stage of its UK growth.
