About BBC Studios

A globally renowned media company borne of the BBC. We make and distribute the world’s most sought-after TV, audio and digital content.

Our ambition is to be the home of the most powerful, entertaining, and inspiring stories for people all around the world.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing retail team at a pivotal moment for Bluey and the wider BBC Studios portfolio.

  • You will work across major UK retailers, international markets, retail marketing and commercial strategy, with the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping the retail future of one of the world’s biggest family entertainment brands.
  • If you are commercially ambitious, highly collaborative and excited by the opportunity to turn brilliant content into brilliant retail experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

This is an exciting time to join the team. Bluey continues to build extraordinary global momentum, with its first feature film planned for 2027, creating a significant opportunity to accelerate retail growth and establish the brand as an even bigger presence across the UK.

Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially driven and highly collaborative Retail Development Manager to join our UK & EMEA Retail team on a maternity cover from October/November 2026.

This is a high-impact role at the heart of our retail strategy, responsible for turning the strength of our brands – particularly Bluey – into retail growth, stronger retailer partnerships and standout consumer experiences.

You will work across the retail ecosystem, building relationships with key UK retailers, shaping General Merchandise strategy, driving retail marketing and working with our licensing agents across EMEA to unlock growth.

We are looking for someone who can think commercially, spot opportunities, influence partners and make things happen – connecting strategy through to execution and measurable results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
