Retail Media Data Analyst
Southampton - 1x a week
Up to £50,000 + up to 20% bonus
This is an opportunity to join a growing analytics function at a business investing heavily in customer insight, retail media, and data-driven decision making. You'll sit at the intersection of CRM, customer analytics, and marketing measurement, helping shape how campaigns are evaluated, audiences are built, and commercial performance is improved.

Data plays a central role in how they understand customer behaviour, optimise marketing activity, and drive commercial performance. Their analytics team partners closely with commercial, marketing, and customer teams to deliver actionable insight that influences strategic decisions across the business.
The Role
As a Retail Media Data Analyst, you will support the measurement, optimisation, and growth of retail media and CRM activity through advanced analytics and customer insight.
Responsibilities include:
- Deliver analysis across retail media, CRM, and loyalty programmes, focusing on customer behaviour, audience performance, and commercial outcomes.
- Measure campaign effectiveness using incrementality, uplift, ROI, and contribution to sales, margin, and customer engagement.
- Design, build, and evaluate customer audiences and segments to support marketing activation and targeting strategies.
- Produce post-campaign analysis and performance reviews, turning findings into clear recommendations.
- Develop and monitor customer health metrics including acquisition, engagement, retention, frequency, churn, and customer value.
- Partner with stakeholders across analytics, marketing, and commercial functions to influence decision-making.
- Use data to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement across customer and marketing initiatives.
- Contribute to scalable analytical solutions and best practices within a collaborative analytics environment.
- Stay informed on developments within retail media, CRM, personalisation, and marketing measurement.

Your Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to interrogate and analyse large customer datasets.
- Experience working with customer, CRM, or loyalty data in a commercial environment.
- Proven capability in marketing analytics, campaign measurement, and customer insight generation.
- Experience designing, evaluating, and optimising marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, and significance testing.
- Experience using cloud-based analytics environments such as Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery.
- Strong data visualisation and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with high-volume customer data, ideally within retail or another consumer-focused industry.
- Ability to influence stakeholders through clear, actionable recommendations rather than reporting alone.
