At the John Lewis Partnership we have created a successful Insights and Media offering. However, as the Retail Media industry is in growth, we are also looking to significantly grow our offering. Creating Insight & Media propositions which create WIN-WIN-WIN outcomes:
- More engaging experiences for Customers
- Growth for JLP
- Growth for suppliers
To deliver against this ambition, we need to accelerate our Retail Media maturity and curate and develop a market-leading, impactful and differentiated portfolio of propositions across the JLP portfolio, that drive value and deliver against the brand and trade objectives of our Supplier partners.
The purpose of this role is to lead ownership of Retail Media Proposition development for Store Media, defining the value proposition and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Commercial, Stores, Customer Marketing and Technology & Change teams to align on the roadmap and strategy to deliver and evolve the capability to meet the Partnership growth ambitions. The role will also be responsible for senior oversight of Retail Media CRM & Loyalty Propositions with a direct report who manages this area.
Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Retail Media team aim for around 2/3 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Location - This role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico, but also requires occasional travel to our Waitrose Bracknell head office too. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role.
Key responsibilities
- Lead definition and strategy for Supplier funded Store Media (Digital Signage, Printed POS, Sampling, DOOH etc) across JLP
- Own the capability roadmap for evolving these propositions over time and work collaboratively across the business to ensure delivery of agreed milestones
- Accountable for the backlog of work and opportunities to be prioritised and scoped for Store Media across JLP
- Define and own the end-to-end process of activating the proposition ensuring efficient delivery of capability
- Own and create the internal articulation and external Media collateral to take the propositions to market
- Enable JLP Sales teams to understand the Value Proposition and how to position this to our Supplier Partners
- Regularly report on the success of the proposition and communicate this regularly within the business, identifying opportunities to optimise and increase performance
- Own the relationship with any third-party vendor responsible for providing or supporting proposition capability
- Lead the necessary RFI/RFP process for any third-party vendor capability requirements needed to support proposition evolution

Essential skills/experience you’ll need
- Strong understanding and experience in Store Media propositions (Digital Signage, Printed POS, Sampling, DOOH etc)
- Significant experience in developing and innovating brand or Retail Media Propositions
- Relevant experience working in a brand and marketing team for a Supplier, Retailer or Agency
- Experience working with complex projects and managing multiple Stakeholders
- Evidence in strong written and verbal communication
- Experience in insight and analytics
Desirable skills/experience you may have
- Further qualifications in marketing or business
