Job Title: Retail Merchandiser
Reporting to: Retail Merchandise Manager
Location: Hammersmith, London
Role Overview:
The Retail Merchandiser supports the Retail Merchandising Manager in delivering profitable product assortments across the Direct-to-Consumer business, including Retail and Ecommerce. Working closely with Collection Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Ecommerce and Finance, you will help ensure the right product is available in the right place, at the right time, maximising sell-through, inventory productivity and the customer experience.
This is a highly commercial and analytical role supporting seasonal buys, trading, stock management, allocations, replenishment and weekly performance reporting. You will play an integral role in executing the retail merchandising strategy while gaining exposure across the full product lifecycle, providing an excellent development pathway into Retail Merchandising Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Buying & Assortment Support
- Support the Retail Merchandising Manager in preparing seasonal buys across Retail and E-commerce.
- Maintain assortment line lists, buy plans and seasonal merchandising tools.
- Prepare historical sales analysis, customer insights and category performance to support seasonal buying decisions.
- Assist in reviewing assortments by channel, store and market to ensure the product offer reflects customer demand.
- Support SKU creation, purchase order administration and system maintenance to ensure seasonal milestones are achieved.
- Identify product opportunities, size gaps and commercial recommendations through sales and inventory analysis.

Trading & Performance Analysis
- Produce accurate daily, weekly and monthly trading reports.
- Monitor sales performance, including sell-through, stock cover, Weeks of Cover (WOC), Average Unit Retail (AUR), Average Order Value (AOV) and SKU productivity.
- Identify fast sellers, slow movers and stock risks, escalating recommendations to the Retail Merchandising Manager.
- Analyse category, product and regional performance to support commercial decision-making.
- Complete competitor benchmarking, pricing analysis and market reviews.
- Support weekly trade meetings by preparing reports, analysis and actionable insights.
Stock Allocation & Inventory Management
- Execute stock allocations, replenishment and store transfers under the guidance of the Retail Merchandising Manager.
- Monitor stock availability, inbound deliveries and warehouse inventory to ensure timely product flow.
- Support seasonal launches by ensuring stock is allocated accurately and delivered on time.
- Assist with markdown preparation, price changes and promotional stock movements.
- Help monitor core and iconic product availability, highlighting replenishment opportunities and stock risks.
- Support stock rebalancing across stores and channels to optimise inventory productivity.
Commercial Operations
- Maintain merchandising trackers, assortment plans and reporting tools.
- Support seasonal product launches and key trading initiatives.
- Assist with store openings, pop-ups and special trading events.
- Liaise with Supply Chain, Logistics and Retail Operations to ensure stock movements are executed accurately.
- Maintain accurate product, pricing and inventory data across merchandising systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Collection Merchandising, Ecommerce, Retail, Marketing, VM, Finance and Supply Chain.
- Support Retail and Ecommerce teams with product performance reporting, stock requests and trading insights.
- Gather feedback from stores and customer performance to support future assortment decisions.
- Assist with seasonal product launches and cross-functional commercial initiatives.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in Retail Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Buying or a similar analytical role within fashion or luxury retail.
- Strong commercial awareness with a passion for product, trading and customer experience.
- Highly analytical with excellent numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and data analysis.
- Experience using merchandising, ERP or planning systems is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach with a willingness to learn.
