About The Role:

Days of Working: Rotating duty manage responsibility, covering North East & Scotland

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Retail Regional Director to lead the delivery of security services across a designated region of the Morrisons retail estate.

Reporting to the Security Director, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational performance of your region, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality security services, exceptional customer service, and strong commercial performance.

Leading a team of Regional Operations Managers, you will work collaboratively with Morrisons and OCS stakeholders to deliver operational excellence, drive continuous improvement, and ensure contractual KPIs, compliance standards, and financial objectives are achieved.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the delivery of security services across a designated retail region.
  • Develop and implement regional operational strategies aligned to the Morrisons and OCS business objectives.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Regional Operations Managers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote the OCS TRUE Values across the region.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure security services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements and service level agreements.
  • Monitor regional performance through KPIs, audits, and operational reviews.
  • Drive consistency and best practice across all stores.
  • Support the mobilisation of new initiatives, technology, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure operational risks are identified and managed effectively.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Morrisons Regional and National stakeholders.
  • Lead customer review meetings and operational governance forums.
  • Respond to escalated operational issues and implement effective service recovery plans.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and strengthen the customer partnership.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Deliver regional financial performance in line with budget and contractual objectives.
  • Monitor labour deployment, productivity, and resource utilisation.
  • Identify efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities.
  • Contribute to contract growth opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Regional Operations Managers.
  • Ensure robust performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
  • Promote colleague engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding for key operational roles.
  • Encourage a culture of learning and professional development.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with SIA requirements, legislation, Health & Safety, and company policies.
  • Monitor audit performance and implement improvement plans where required.
  • Oversee the management of serious incidents, investigations, and escalations.
  • Ensure all security operations are delivered safely, ethically, and professionally.

Technology & Innovation

  • Support the implementation and optimisation of security technologies including CCTV, access control, body-worn video, and digital reporting platforms.
  • Promote the use of operational data and business intelligence to improve decision-making.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the region.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • SIA DS License
  • Demonstratable experience leading £3-5 Million security services contracts
  • Significant experience managing large multi-site security operations within a retail environment.
  • Proven experience leading senior operational management teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial management experience.
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining executive-level customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of contract management, risk management, and security operations.
  • Experience delivering operational improvements across large geographical areas.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Membership of the Security Institute, ASIS, or equivalent professional body.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience delivering technology-enabled security solutions.
  • Experience managing national retail contracts.
  • Project or change management qualifications.
