About The Role
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Regional Manager to join our Retail team at Company Shop Group.
As a Regional Manager, you'll play a key role in driving the performance of our stores, developing our Store Managers, and creating a consistent, high-performing retail experience across your region.
This is a role for someone who can lead from the front, inspire others, and drive meaningful change. You'll translate our Retail strategy into action, ensuring our stores deliver strong commercial results, excellent operational standards, and an outstanding experience for our members.
You'll be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing Store Managers, building a strong leadership culture, and ensuring our teams have the support, direction, and accountability they need to succeed.
About Us
Company Shop Group (CSG), part of Biffa, is the largest commercial redistributor of surplus food and household products in the UK. We enable some of the biggest retailers, manufacturers, food service, and logistics providers to unlock value from surplus stock, which may have otherwise gone to waste. The surplus we handle is redistributed through our Company Shop stores and our award-winning social enterprise Community Shop, where we build stronger individuals and more confident communities. Working with our partners, we deliver an incredible impact, and we're proud to be a good business doing good.
We believe different ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds are key to developing a creative and effective working environment, which is why you'll find us championing diversity and equality at every turn.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead & Develop People: Coach and develop Store Managers, build leadership capability, and create a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Commercial Performance: Take ownership of regional KPIs, including sales, productivity, payroll, waste, and audit performance, identifying opportunities to improve results.
- Deliver Operational Excellence: Ensure stores operate safely, legally, and consistently in line with Company Shop Group standards, policies, and procedures.
- Champion Our Members: Drive a consistently excellent member experience, using feedback and local insight to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead Change & Improvement: Translate Retail strategy into clear regional plans, challenge existing ways of working, and embed business change effectively.
- Build Strong Relationships: Work collaboratively with central functions and key stakeholders to support regional performance and deliver wider business priorities.
- Plan for the Future: Lead succession planning, talent development, and workforce planning to strengthen our retail leadership team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
