Retail Security Officer

We are seeking a Retail Security Officer to join our team on-site in the United Kingdom on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will be the vital first line of defence, safeguarding staff, customers, and stock while embodying our human, dynamic, and united values every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible deterrent on the shop floor to prevent theft and protect customer and employee safety.
  • Apply ASCONE principles effectively to identify, monitor, and deter shoplifting and retail loss.
  • Maintain a welcoming, professional presence at store entrances and throughout customer-facing areas.
  • De-escalate confrontations calmly and handle incidents in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Work in close partnership with store management and retail staff to address daily security needs.
  • Uphold compliance by following store policies and completing required incident reporting accurately.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A valid, current SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Security Guarding).
  • Proven customer service skills with a smart, professional appearance and approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and manage conflict through effective de-escalation.
  • Strict adherence to standard operating procedures, compliance standards, and reporting processes.
  • Right to work in the UK alongside a verifiable 5-year checkable history.

Nice-to-have

  • Prior experience in retail security, loss prevention, or working as a store detective.
  • Familiarity with ASCONE methodologies in a busy retail environment.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration and communication with on-site retail management teams.
