Retail Security Officer
Location: LIDL Weston-super-Mare (Worle)
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Pay: Competitive Rate (Dependent on Experience)
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and professional Retail Security Officer to join our team at LIDL Weston-super-Mare (Worle). This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated security professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, colleagues, and visitors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting store assets, reducing stock loss, deterring criminal activity, and supporting the store team through a highly visible and customer-focused security presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the store.
- Deter theft, fraud, and anti-social behaviour.
- Conduct regular patrols of the store, warehouse, and surrounding areas.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents and emergencies.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports in line with company procedures.
- Monitor suspicious activity and take appropriate action.
- Work closely with store management and colleagues to support operational requirements.
- Deliver high levels of customer service while maintaining security standards.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific and company security procedures.
- Liaise with emergency services and external agencies when required.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
- Previous experience working within a retail security role.
- Strong understanding of retail loss prevention and crime reduction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident interacting with customers, colleagues, and members of the public.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

Technical Skills
As modern retail security is heavily reliant on technology, applicants should be comfortable using:
- Digital incident reporting and case management platforms.
- Mobile devices and tablets for reporting and communication.
- CCTV and security monitoring systems.
- Electronic reporting tools for recording incidents and evidence.
- Microsoft Outlook and other digital communication systems.
- Internal compliance, audit, and security management platforms.

You will be proactive, approachable, and capable of building positive working relationships with both customers and store colleagues.
