Retail Security Officer (Relief)

Location: Tesco Tadcaster, with relief cover across York and Leeds (YO24 1LW)

Pay: £13.47 Per Hour (Weekly Pay)

Hours: Flexi Contract, 0 - 48 Hours Per Week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Sunday

Shift Times: 13:00 - 22:00 and 14:00 - 22:00

About The Role

Kingdom Group is recruiting for a professional and customer-focused Retail Security Officer (Relief) to support operations at Tesco Tadcaster and provide additional cover across sites in York and Leeds.

This flexible role is ideal for experienced retail security professionals who enjoy working across multiple locations and can adapt to different environments. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure shopping experience for customers, colleagues, and visitors while protecting store assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a visible and professional security presence within store locations
  • Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, stockrooms, and external areas
  • Help prevent theft, shoplifting, and anti-social behaviour
  • Monitor and respond to incidents in a calm and professional manner
  • Complete accurate incident reports and store documentation
  • Support store management with security-related matters
  • Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining security standards
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures and health & safety requirements
  • Liaise with local management, staff, and emergency services when required
  • Travel between sites in York and Leeds to provide relief cover as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence or SIA Security Licence (Essential)
  • Previous retail security experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail
  • Professional and reliable approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confident dealing with incidents and challenging situations
  • Flexible approach to working hours and locations
  • Own transport is essential due to travel between sites
