Retail Solution Architect – ERP, Supply Chain, eCommerce, POS
Location: London & 80% remote
Contract:
- £600 - £650 per day Inside IR35. 6 months rolling. London & 80% remote
- OR
- Permanent: £90,000 - £100,000 + bonus + benefits. London & 80% remote
We’re looking for a retail-native Solution Architect who can own end-to-end solution design across ERP, supply chain, eCommerce, and POS. Someone who understands how modern retail actually works, not just the technology, but the operational heartbeat behind it. If you can translate business ambition into scalable, integrated architecture, this is your stage.
The Role:
You’ll be the architectural lead across a portfolio of retail transformation initiatives. Expect to work closely with product, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to design solutions that improve availability, reduce friction, and elevate the customer experience across every channel.

- ERP (finance, merchandising, inventory, procurement)
- Supply chain (OMS, WMS, forecasting, replenishment, logistics)
- eCommerce (web, mobile, checkout, payments, customer data)
- POS (store systems, unified basket, promotions, returns, click & collect)
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll define standards, challenge assumptions, and ensure the entire retail ecosystem works as one.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect end-to-end retail solutions that integrate ERP, supply chain, eCommerce, and POS platforms.
- Lead technical design for major transformation programmes (e.g., ERP modernisation, unified commerce, store systems refresh).
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure designs are buildable, scalable, and secure.
- Evaluate vendor platforms, SaaS solutions, and integration patterns.
- Create architectural roadmaps, reference architectures, and design documentation.
- Act as the technical authority in workshops with senior stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and long-term strategy.
- Champion modern retail architecture: event-driven, API-first, cloud-native.

What You Bring:
- Deep retail experience — you understand SKU complexity, fulfilment constraints, store operations, and omnichannel behaviours.
- Strong ERP background (Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Supply chain expertise across OMS, WMS, forecasting, replenishment, logistics.
- eCommerce architecture experience including checkout, payments, promotions, and customer identity.
- POS knowledge — store systems, unified basket, returns, click & collect, loyalty.
- Integration mastery — APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Ability to simplify complexity and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A strategic mindset paired with practical delivery experience.
