About the role:
Northampton Saints are looking for a Retail Store Manager to help lead the day-to-day delivery of the Club’s retail operation across our physical store, matchday outlets and online fulfilment activity.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong retail background who is ready to take their first step into management, or who is early in their management career and looking to develop within a professional, fast-paced and supportive sporting environment. You will be joining a small team where your contribution will be visible, valued and central to delivering a brilliant supporter and customer experience.
Working closely with the Head of Retail / Commercial Lead and the E-commerce Manager, you will help ensure that the Saints Store is well organised, commercially effective, appropriately stocked and focused on delivering excellent service. The role will involve a mix of store management, team coordination, stock management, matchday preparation, customer service and online order fulfilment.
You will be required to work Saturdays and Match Days.
What you’ll be doing:
- Helping to drive revenue and strong sales performance across the Club’s retail stores.
- Ensuring the store and matchday retail areas are well presented, appropriately stocked and ready to trade.
- Supporting and coordinating a small team, including rotas, day-to-day supervision, service standards and payroll administration.
- Preparing for matchdays, including merchandising, stock movement and the operational readiness of satellite retail stores.
- Coordinating online order fulfilment, including picking, packing and dispatching customer orders accurately and on time.
- Responding to customer service queries and resolving issues relating to product availability, order accuracy, delivery, click and collect, stock discrepancies and replenishment.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in Ecommerce, Marketing and other internal teams to support campaigns, product launches and engaging store displays.
- Contributing to a positive, professional and customer-focused retail environment that reflects the standards of Northampton Saints.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
