Skoolkit is a business that supports local schools, parents and pupils every day, and we’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hands-on School Uniform Shop Manager to lead our busy school uniform shop in the Meridian Centre, Havant.

This is much more than a retail management role. Our shop plays an important part in helping local families prepare their children for school, and we work closely with a number of local schools to ensure pupils have access to the correct uniform throughout the year.

We’re looking for someone who is an outstanding leader with a genuine passion for customer service. You’ll be confident managing a team, building positive relationships with parents, children and school staff, and creating a welcoming environment where every customer feels valued.

You’ll need to be organised, approachable and calm under pressure, particularly during our busy back-to-school season when providing an efficient, friendly service is essential.

🛍️ THE ROLE

As Shop Manager, you’ll take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of our school uniform shop, ensuring excellent standards of customer service, operational efficiency and team performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a friendly, customer-focused team.
  • Delivering exceptional service to parents, pupils and school representatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with our partner schools, including occasionally visiting schools and attending evening events. Being able to drive your own vehicle to such events would be an advantage.
  • Ensuring customers receive knowledgeable advice and support when purchasing school uniform.
  • Managing stock levels, deliveries and inventory to ensure products are available when needed.
  • Planning staffing levels to meet seasonal demand and maintaining an efficient operation throughout the year.
  • Monitoring sales, managing cash handling and ensuring company procedures are followed.
  • Maintaining high standards of shop presentation and organisation.
  • Resolving customer queries professionally, fairly and with empathy.
  • Creating a positive working environment where colleagues feel supported and motivated.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
