Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the store manager in the management functions of a retail store. This is a working supervisory position where directing the work, delegating assignments, and physically performing any necessary tasks will all occur routinely. These functions include:

  • Training and supervision of employees.
  • Maintaining good customer and donor relations.
  • Timely and accurate completion and submission of reports, to include sales and processing.
  • Loads and unloads trucks or trailers as needed.
  • Assist with sorting, cleaning, categorizing, sizing, and pricing.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, routes the call as appropriate, disseminates information and/or takes a message; and utilizes excellent customer service skills. Monitors and appropriately distributes scanned paperwork, and transmits faxed paperwork as needed or requested.
  • Responsible for the sign-up and registration of community service workers at the assigned retail store location, ensuring appropriate paperwork is forwarded to the community service coordinator at the Gandy Hub for approval.
  • Creates new or replacement signs for the retail store and name tags for employees as requested.

Job Requirements:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent related experience preferred. Desire minimum of six months experience in retail setting involving customer contact, merchandising, cash register transactions, and supervisory experience. Subject to alcohol and drug testing. Subject to criminal history background checks.
