The role of the Retirement Housing Officer is to deliver Retirement Housing Services to complexes. The Retirement Housing Officer provides a range of welfare, monitoring and retirement housing assistance to tenants. The post is committed to promoting and assisting individuals to maintain their independence. The Retirement Housing Officer delivers advice and assistance to sustain independent living solutions and responds to emergency situations.

The Person
It is essential that the individual has moderate experience of working with Older People or service users with Specific Needs. You will have the ability to deal with crisis situations and be able to demonstrate an ability to work on his/her own initiative. Have a positive attitude to service users. Possess good literacy and numeracy skills and basic IT skills - have the ability to deal with e-mails. Be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate with a range of internal/external partner agencies.
The normal working week is 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday. A requirement of this post is to work on public holidays.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
