🚀 Senior Creative Retoucher
📍 London | Studio-based
A fantastic opportunity has opened for a Senior Creative Retoucher with extensive FMCG packaging experience to join a busy, established creative studio.
This is a highly specialist role for someone who combines exceptional creative retouching skills with strong technical knowledge of colour, repro and print production. You'll need a particularly strong understanding of food and beverage imagery, including the ability to create beautifully realistic compositions from multiple photographic elements.
You'll remain very hands-on while also acting as a senior member of the team, supporting other retouchers, maintaining quality standards and helping ensure imagery remains consistent across large packaging ranges.
What you'll be doing
- Creating high-end imagery and complex compositions for FMCG packaging
- Retouching and combining food, ingredients and product photography to create natural, realistic serving suggestions
- Working confidently with light, shadow, perspective and colour to produce convincing finished imagery
- Colour correcting and preparing imagery with consideration for print and production requirements
- Evaluating creative concepts and identifying opportunities to enhance imagery through retouching
- Maintaining visual consistency across large product ranges and multiple SKUs
- Working closely with design, artwork and production teams to resolve technical imaging challenges
- Managing a high volume of projects while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail
- Supporting and mentoring other retouchers and sharing technical expertise across the team
- Acting as a senior point of contact for retouching projects when required

What they're looking for
- 5+ years' professional creative retouching experience
- Strong FMCG packaging experience, ideally across food and/or beverage brands
- An exceptional portfolio demonstrating high-end creative and technical retouching
- Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills
- Excellent comping skills, particularly combining ingredients and food imagery into realistic compositions
- Strong understanding of light, shadow, perspective, colour correction and image quality
- Good technical understanding of colour separation, print and repro requirements
- Experience working with brand guidelines and maintaining consistency across large packaging ranges
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced, high-volume creative environment
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting other retouchers
- Digital photography experience would be advantageous
