SALARY: £29,000 per annum
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week: Flexible hours
LOCATION: Avonmouth / Hartcliffe / Day's Road
Purpose of the Role:
At Bristol Waste, we have an opportunity to divert good condition, fit-for-purpose items from the waste stream and get them into the hands of people who can use them. Since our founding, reuse has been a key part of our vision.
The Reuse Sales & Operations Assistant will provide dedicated sales and operational support across Bristol Waste Company’s reuse sites and online channels. The role will maximise the financial, social and environmental value of reusable items by developing online, auction and specialist sales; coordinating stock movement between our shops; supporting IT reuse and compost sales; and representing Reuse at events and outreach activities.
The role will help reduce the disposal of saleable items and create capacity for shop teams to focus on in-store sales and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and develop online sales channels, including preparing, photographing, listing, pricing and processing items for sale through eBay and other approved platforms.
- Identify higher-value or specialist items and direct them to the most appropriate in-store, online, auction or specialist sales channel.
- Coordinate IT reuse stock, including its movement, presentation and availability for online and in-store sale.
- Support effective stock movement between sites to improve availability, presentation and consistency across the reuse shops.
- Support additional income-generating activities, including compost sales, auctions and other approved reuse initiatives.
- Attend events and outreach activities to promote Reuse.
- Coordinate approved donations to voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, maintaining appropriate records and processes.
- Deliver excellent customer service and work collaboratively with shop colleagues, volunteers and other teams.
- Maintain accurate sales, stock and activity records, providing information that supports performance monitoring and decision-making.

Essential Requirements:
- Experience selling products through online marketplaces or other digital sales channels.
- Must be able to prepare effective online product listings, including clear descriptions and photographs.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage activity across multiple sites and sales channels.
- Knowledge of stock control, pricing, merchandising and sales processes.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and deliver agreed outcomes.
- Must be able to undertake manual handling safely and move stock where required.
- Knowledge of retail, online selling and customer service principles.
- Awareness of appropriate procedures for payment handling, customer information and online transactions.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
- Awareness of reuse, recycling and environmental sustainability.
