Reuse Shop Assistant (Part Time) - Avonmouth

SALARY: £13.45 per hour

HOURS: 15 hours per week: Friday- Tuesday 11am - 2pm

LOCATION: Avonmouth

Purpose of the Role:

At Bristol Waste, we have an opportunity to divert good condition, fit-for-purpose items from the waste stream and get them into the hands of people who can use them. Since our founding, reuse has been a key part of our vision.

We are seeking an approachable, friendly, and professional individual to work as a Reuse Shop Assistant at our Avonmouth site. You will be responsible for contributing towards the day-to-day running of the shops while providing excellent customer service. Experience is beneficial, training will be given to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service by providing a welcoming, inclusive and professional experience for customers, volunteers and visitors.
• Operate the point-of-sale system accurately, processing cash and card payments while maintaining appropriate records and following company procedures.
• Process reusable items for sale, including checking, cleaning, pricing, merchandising and supporting effective stock rotation, while ensuring unsuitable items are recycled or disposed of appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and presentation throughout the shop to provide a safe and attractive retail environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers, providing day-to-day support, sharing information and contributing to effective team performance.
• Comply with all health and safety requirements, including manual handling, fire safety and the prompt reporting of hazards, accidents and incidents to maintain a safe environment for staff, volunteers and customers.
• Work in accordance with Bristol Waste Company's policies, procedures, values and Integrated Management System (IMS), contributing to continuous improvement and carrying out other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
