Are you passionate about sustainability, reducing waste and supporting your local community? Bristol Waste Company is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join our Reuse Shop team.
As a Reuse Shop Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping us prevent usable items from going to waste, making affordable goods available to local people and supporting a greener Bristol. Whether you're looking to gain retail experience, meet new people or make a positive environmental impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
As a volunteer, you'll support the day-to-day running of our Reuse Shops by:

- Welcoming customers and providing friendly, helpful customer service.
- Assisting with the display, organisation and presentation of reusable items for sale.
- Helping to sort, clean and prepare donated goods, ensuring they are ready for customers.
- Supporting stock rotation and keeping shop displays attractive and well organised.
- Assisting with basic till and point-of-sale activities (full training provided).
- Helping maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for customers, volunteers and staff.
- Working alongside a supportive team of colleagues and fellow volunteers.
- Promoting the importance of reuse, recycling and environmental sustainability within the community.
What We're Looking For
You don't need extensive experience to volunteer with us. We're looking for people who are:
- Friendly, approachable and customer-focused.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
- Organised and keen to learn new skills.
- Passionate about sustainability and reducing waste.
- Comfortable following health and safety guidance.
- Positive, enthusiastic and willing to contribute to a busy retail environment.

Skills And Experience That Would Be Useful
While not essential, the following experience would be beneficial:
- Customer service or retail experience.
- Experience using a till or handling cash.
- Working or volunteering as part of a team.
- Maintaining clean, organised spaces.
