About the Role
RiskSmart is a fast-growing Manchester-based SaaS company helping businesses simplify governance, risk, and compliance.
Our platform helps risk teams move away from spreadsheets, manual processes, and clunky legacy systems by giving them clearer visibility, better reporting, and more control over risk management.
We work with well-known brands across financial services, retail, technology, energy and professional services, with our growth being recognised across multiple industry awards.
Rev Ops Data Role
This role is about the numbers behind our commercial engine. You'll build and maintain the single version of the truth that marketing, sales and customer success all work from, and produce the reporting our leadership team and board rely on.
You'll help set one consistent set of definitions, then keep the data honest against them and flag it early when things drift. Your reporting will cover the full commercial funnel, from top-of-funnel marketing through to churn and renewals.
This is a hands-on, analytical role. HubSpot is at the centre of our stack and you'll be in it daily, building the reports, dashboards, workflows and automations that keep data clean at source. You're not tidying records by hand, you're building the checks that stop the mess happening.
You'll also be working with AI daily. It's not optional here. We use Claude, and you'll need to show evidence of AI already embedded in how you work.
What You'll Work On
- Building and maintaining reporting across the entire revenue line: marketing pipeline, sales pipeline, churn and renewals, and capacity planning.
- Keeping definitions and rules consistent across marketing, sales and customer success, and flagging early when the numbers start to drift apart.
- Working in HubSpot day to day: reports, dashboards, workflow build, automations and the data hygiene that keeps everything trustworthy.
- Building and maintaining the models behind our forecasts.
- Producing leadership and board reporting with numbers that are clean, consistent and defensible.
- Working with sales, marketing, Account Management and CS teams to ensure data is clean, reporting is actionable and Senior leaders are kept informed.
- If reports/MI disagree, fix the cause rather than patching the symptom.
- Using AI to solve problems that would otherwise drown you in manual work.
- Joining up the revenue line with the wider business, so everyone is working from the same playbook.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Why You Should (and Shouldn't) Apply
You Should Apply If
- You've spent time in revenue operations, sales operations, or a commercial or business analyst role, working with pipeline and revenue data.
- HubSpot super user. You can build reports, dashboards, workflows and automations in it without needing somebody to hold your hand.
- You're super comfortable with data. Advanced spreadsheet skills as a baseline.
- AI is already woven into how you work. You can give concrete examples of which tools you use, what you've built with them, and how they've changed your process.
- You report what the data actually says, even when it isn't what somebody was hoping to hear.
- You're a self-starter. You can pick up a vague question, work out what's really being asked, and come back with an answer.
- You like the idea of shaping how this job works rather than following somebody else's process.
You Probably Shouldn't Apply If
- You'd struggle with HubSpot, or you'd want somebody else to handle the tooling side. This is a non-negotiable.
- AI feels like a threat rather than a tool. You see it as something that reduces your value, not something that multiplies what you can deliver.
- You want to manage a team right now. This is a hands-on individual role working alongside Senior leaders.
- You'd rather advise than build. The role is about delivery, so building the reports, cleaning the data and making it stick.
A Bit About You
Your Experience
- You've worked with commercial data in a revenue operations, sales operations, or analyst role, and you've built reporting and analytics that other people made decisions from. You don't need to have run a function. You do need to have done the work yourself, so building the reports, digging into why a number looks wrong, and following it through to a fix. B2B SaaS experience is strongly preferred. Exposure to a regulated or compliance-heavy market is a bonus, though we'll teach you the domain.
Tooling Used
- HubSpot sits at the centre and you're confident in it. Experience with other platforms, such as Salesforce or Pipedrive, is a plus, as some skills transfer. Advanced spreadsheet skills are a given, and SQL or a business intelligence tool is an advantage. You use AI regularly as part of your workflow. Other tools in the stack will change and you're flexible on that front.

Communication
- You can explain what a number means to somebody who will never open the model behind it. You're comfortable telling people when a figure is wrong or when the data won't support the conclusion they want, and you do it in a way that lands well rather than putting backs up. You write clearly.
Analysis
- You think operationally. You diagnose what's broken in a process, you ask tough questions about data quality, and you can work out which problems to tackle first based on commercial impact. You're curious about how the business actually works, not just the metrics.
We recognise that women and people from underrepresented groups often only apply for jobs when they meet every single one of the requirements listed. If you fall into that category and are about to rule yourself out based on the above, please consider applying anyway. We'd love to see your application.
Why Join RiskSmart?
- Your reporting lands in front of the leadership team and the board, so you'll see your work change decisions rather than disappear into a folder.
- A business that moves at pace, trusts its team and thrives on innovation and ideas.
- A market with real regulatory tailwinds. New Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules on operational incident and third-party reporting land in March 2027, and our customers are preparing now.
- Multi-module platform, which means a commercial picture with genuine depth to get into, rather than a single product line and a flat funnel.
- Room to grow. This is a role that gets broader as the business does, and we'd rather grow somebody into it than keep hiring above them.
- A growing Manchester team (we call ourselves Smarties), and hybrid working from our Manchester office.
- RiskSmart values – Keep it simple | Move at pace | Succeed together | We work, how you work
