Revenue Growth Management Controller

We're partnering with a major blue-chip FMCG business to recruit a Revenue Growth Management Controller into a highly influential commercial leadership position.

This role has evolved beyond a Senior Manager remit. The business is looking for someone who can lead RGM from the front - setting the agenda, shaping senior commercial decisions and creating a clear strategy for how the organisation maximises revenue and profit over the next three to five years.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you'll have significant exposure to the UK Leadership Team and lead the RGM team.

The challenge isn't simply finding more data. It's turning increasingly complex market, customer and promotional dynamics into simple, compelling commercial narratives that people understand, believe in and act upon.

The Role

You'll take strategic ownership of the RGM agenda across the core commercial levers of:

  • Price & Promotional Strategy
  • Pack Price Architecture (PPA)
  • Occasion, Brand, Product, Price & Channel (OBPPC)
  • Assortment & Mix
  • Trade Terms & Investment
  • Revenue and Margin Opportunity Identification

You'll build a pipeline of opportunities beyond the annual operating plan, determining where the business should invest, where it needs to change and which commercial choices will create the greatest long-term value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A major priority will be promotional effectiveness - challenging existing approaches, understanding where investment is genuinely creating incremental value and developing a clearer strategy for future promotional activity.

You'll need the analytical capability to get underneath the numbers, combined with the commercial presence and storytelling ability to simplify complexity and influence senior stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who have built their career within either a blue-chip FMCG environment or commercial/RGM consultancy.

You'll bring significant experience across Revenue Growth Management and a strong understanding of the key commercial levers, but critically, you'll also be able to translate analysis into a clear strategic point of view.

You're likely to have:

  • 10+ years' FMCG or consultancy-based commercial experience
  • Broad exposure across the key RGM levers
  • Strong pricing, promotion, pack architecture and mix experience
  • Excellent analytical, data and modelling capability
  • Experience shaping commercial strategy rather than simply reporting performance
  • The ability to turn complex analysis into clear, senior-level narratives and recommendations
  • Strong cross-functional experience across Sales, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain
  • Confidence influencing and constructively challenging senior leadership
  • Experience developing and leading high-performing teams
  • High levels of learning agility, curiosity and commercial judgement

Previous customer management, trading or commercial finance experience would be valuable, but isn't essential.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to become the commercial thought leader for RGM within a substantial FMCG organisation.

You'll have the platform to challenge established thinking, bring external best practice into the business and help senior leaders make better decisions across pricing, promotions, portfolio, customers and investment.

For someone coming from consultancy, it offers the opportunity to take the thinking you've developed for clients and own the real-world execution and commercial outcome.

For someone already within blue-chip FMCG, it offers the step from being an RGM specialist or Senior Manager to becoming the Controller setting the agenda and leading the function.

Package: Up to £110,000 + £7,500 Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Location: Berkshire - 3 days per week in the office / 2 days from home

If you're an RGM leader who combines technical depth with strategic thinking, commercial storytelling and the presence to influence at the highest level, we'd love to hear from you.
