We have an exciting opportunity to join #TeamEMR as a Revenue Management Systems Analyst.
In this role, you’ll turn systems and data into commercial advantage - driving smarter pricing decisions, stronger revenue performance and sustainable growth.
You’ll lead the optimisation of our Revenue Management, Pricing and Reservations systems, championing best practice and driving a clear data improvement strategy to ensure our commercial teams have the accurate, timely and high-quality data they need to make better decisions.
Working across Revenue Management, Pricing, IT, Data and the wider business, you’ll translate commercial priorities into effective system, data and process solutions. You’ll also play a key role in major initiatives including new pricing strategies and fares reform, seat reservations for our new fleet, and the effective use of passenger count and other commercial data.
What else you’ll be involved in:
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Support the development and implementation of Revenue Management and Pricing strategies.
- Translate commercial requirements into effective system, data and process solutions.
- Provide analysis and insight to support pricing decisions, revenue growth and wider commercial objectives.
- Support competitor pricing and product availability monitoring.
Data Strategy, Quality & Insight
- Lead the data improvement strategy for Revenue Management and Pricing.
- Improve the quality, accuracy, timeliness and breadth of data feeding commercial systems.
- Ensure passenger counts, train loading and other relevant data are accurately and consistently delivered and utilised.
- Work with IT and Data teams to ensure high-quality data is available to support forecasting and commercial decisions.
Systems Optimisation & Best Practice
- Own best practice across Revenue Management, Pricing and Reservations systems.
- Optimise system configuration, functionality and processes to maximise their commercial value.
- Continuously improve procedures, guidance, automation and system utilisation.
- Manage Advance Purchase horizons, levels and availability to ensure they are accurately reflected in systems.

Pricing, Fares & Reservations
- Support the implementation of new pricing strategies and fares reform, from requirements gathering through to testing, implementation and assurance.
- Support the delivery and ongoing management of seat reservations, including the new fleet.
- Ensure products, fares and availability are correctly configured, available for sale and aligned with commercial and operational requirements.
Testing, Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Lead system testing, including test scenario development, User Acceptance Testing, validation and post-implementation assurance.
- Identify and deliver improvements to automation, data quality, system performance and operational efficiency.
- Investigate system, data and process issues, identify root causes and deliver sustainable solutions with Technology, Data and external suppliers.
Stakeholder & Project Delivery
- Build strong relationships across Revenue Management, Pricing, Train Planning, Operations, Customer Experience, IT, Data and external suppliers.
- Act as a key link between commercial teams and technical/data specialists, ensuring requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Support EMR and other Train Operating Companies with the successful delivery of commercial projects, initiatives and ad-hoc requirements.
What you’ll bring
You’ll combine commercial thinking, analytical expertise and systems knowledge to turn data and insight into better decisions and outcomes. You’ll bring:
- Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong data analysis, forecasting, modelling and reporting skills.
- A strong understanding of Revenue Management, Pricing, market segmentation and travel demand.
- Sharp commercial acumen, with the ability to spot opportunities and drive value.
- Experience optimising Revenue Management, Pricing and Reservations systems, including automation and functionality.
- A track record of improving data quality, processes and reporting to support better decisions.
- The ability to turn business requirements into effective system, data and process solutions.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with confidence presenting data-driven recommendations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical, sustainable solutions.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation, with the ability to deliver at pace and manage competing demands.
- A collaborative, self-motivated approach, with the confidence to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Rail industry experience would be beneficial, but it’s not essential. What matters most is your ability to apply your commercial, analytical and systems expertise to make a difference.

EMR has a hybrid working policy which is applicable for this role. This means the role can be based at home 2-3 days per week and on site 2-3 days per week. Should you wish to work full time on site, this is also an option.

This might be undertaking safety critical work, for which you'll receive training, but it could just be helping out with Customer Service when our stations are busy.
