About The Team

Reverse Logistics Warehouse Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for the overall management of reverse logistics warehouse operations, ensuring returned goods are processed safely, accurately and efficiently. The role oversees daily operations, inventory, productivity, quality, labour planning and team performance while driving continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily reverse logistics operations, including receiving, inspection, grading, sorting, put-away, refurbishment, return-to-vendor and disposal processes.
  • Monitor operational KPIs including productivity, processing lead time, backlog, inventory accuracy, quality and labour utilisation.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and investigate stock discrepancies, damages and operational exceptions.
  • Lead and develop warehouse supervisors, team leaders and operatives, including shift planning, attendance, performance management and training.
  • Plan workforce requirements based on operational volume and forecasts, controlling overtime and agency labour costs.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, conduct root-cause analysis and implement process and SOP improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements, risk assessments, safe working procedures and company policies.
  • Manage peak-volume operations and ensure sufficient labour and operational capacity to meet business requirements.
  • Work closely with Transportation, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, HR, IT and other operational teams to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and review operational reports, providing management with clear updates on performance, risks and improvement actions.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of warehouse or logistics operations experience, with previous management experience preferred.
  • Experience in reverse logistics, returns, refurbishment, e-commerce or after-sales operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, labour planning and operational KPIs.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement capabilities.
  • Good data analysis skills with experience using WMS and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of UK warehouse Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage operational pressure during peak periods.
