Reward Analyst

Salary: Competitive + bonus + private healthcare + generous company benefits

Location: UK flexible with travel as required

Flexible work arrangements available, including part-time options

This is a 12-month Secondment / Fixed Term Contractor position

As a Reward Analyst, you will provide analytical, reward support to the Reward Leadership Team and wider business. You will help ensure Centrica’s reward arrangements continue to be competitive to attract and retain top talent, support our business strategy, reinforce our values, drive a high-performance culture, are financially viable and comply with applicable laws and regulations.

This role is responsible for supporting the design, delivery and governance of reward programmes across the business. Working closely with Reward, HR and business stakeholders, the individual will provide data-driven insights, market benchmarking and reward expertise to support strategic decision-making. The role plays a key part in collective pay negotiations, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, reward policy development, annual reward reviews, and M&A/TUPE activity, ensuring reward practices remain competitive, compliant and aligned to business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with Reward, HR and business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend appropriate reward solutions.
  • Provide market data, analysis and employee modelling to support collective pay negotiations and reward decision-making.
  • Use reward modelling techniques to assess the impact of pay and benefit proposals.
  • Evaluate and benchmark roles using the Hay Job Evaluation methodology.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and salary survey analysis to develop and maintain competitive salary ranges globally.
  • Support salary range reviews and maintain the global job catalogue.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of reward policies and frameworks.
  • Support M&A and TUPE activities through role evaluation, package costing, comparison and integration activities.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the annual reward review cycle.
  • Review incentive plans against market practice and provide recommendations to enhance competitiveness and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure reward programmes comply with internal governance requirements and external regulatory standards.
  • Support high-priority reward projects across different areas of the Reward function.
  • Manage processes to implement collective pay agreements accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify and implement tools and processes to improve data quality, validation and cleansing activities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of business priorities and ensure reward activities align with Centrica's wider reward strategy.

Here's What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly analytical and commercially minded reward professional who can work with complex data, translate insights into practical recommendations, and build strong relationships across the business. You'll be confident working in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Key qualities and experience include:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, IF statements, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data modelling and scenario analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, alongside experience with systems such as SAP reporting and Workday.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw meaningful insights from data.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex reward concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • A methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Commercially aware, with a good understanding of how reward supports broader business objectives.
  • Capable of developing practical and effective solutions within a defined reward framework and strategy.
  • Adaptable and open to change, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative relationship builder with a proven track record of working effectively across teams and functions.
  • Strong team player who supports colleagues and contributes positively to team success.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, sound judgement and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • CIPD qualification desirable.
