Our client is an established product development business based just outside Cambridge, creating advanced communications technology for defence and aerospace applications. The work focuses on solving difficult communications challenges, particularly where systems need to remain secure, resilient, and effective in demanding environments.
About the Role
The RF Communications Engineer will design and develop specialist communications hardware for applications including secure communications, air defence, counter-UAS, and space-based systems. Projects cover the full development cycle, from early technical concepts and system architecture through to circuit design, prototyping, integration, and laboratory testing.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working at both circuit and system level. As an RF Communications Engineer, you will build and debug RF hardware, investigate performance issues, and work with antenna, signal processing, electronics, and systems specialists to deliver complete communications products.
Requirements
Our client is looking for strong fundamentals in RF communications and practical experience developing, testing, and debugging RF circuits or systems. You should have a degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related subject, alongside a hands-on approach and the ability to solve complex technical problems.
- Experience with RF system simulation, antenna design, or testing, and digital signal processing would be useful, although practical communications hardware experience is the main priority.
