RF Lead Engineer
This RF Lead Engineer opportunity sits within a well-funded, fast-growing semiconductor company developing next-generation RF technology for mobile and connected devices. The business is focused on simplifying RF front-end architectures at a system level, enabling more efficient, scalable connectivity across a wide range of applications.
Joining as an RF Lead Engineer, you’ll play a key role in moving cutting-edge RF concepts into real, deployable hardware – working closely with architecture, systems, and wider engineering teams.
As an RF Lead Engineer, you will take ownership of RF subsystem design and delivery within a defined system architecture. This is a hands-on position with real technical depth, combined with leadership responsibilities across design, validation, and team development.
You’ll be expected to drive RF performance from concept through to validation, ensuring designs meet both technical and commercial objectives.

RF Technical Leadership
- Lead RF design activities aligned to system-level requirements
- Own RF subsystem performance, implementation, and delivery
- Drive design reviews and provide technical sign-off

RF Design & Development
- Design and simulate RF circuits (LNAs, PAs, filters, duplexers)
- Translate architectural requirements into detailed RF designs
- Optimise RF performance within system constraints
Testing & Verification
- Define and execute RF test and validation plans
- Analyse measurements (S-parameters, NF, EVM, ACPR, phase noise, linearity)
- Lead debugging and root-cause analysis of RF issues
Mentorship & Leadership
- Mentor and support RF engineers within the team
- Promote strong engineering practices and documentation standards
Cross-Functional Work
- Collaborate with system architects and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to technical decision-making, planning, and risk management
- Support manufacturing and production test activities
What They’re Looking For
- Degree in RF Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or similar
- Strong hands-on RF design experience across relevant frequency ranges
- Proven track record delivering RF projects at a senior/lead level
- Solid understanding of RF theory and real-world implementation
- Experience with tools such as ADS, AWR, CST, HFSS
- Confident using RF lab equipment (VNA, spectrum analyser, signal generator, etc.)
