Our client is a well-established technology development business based just outside Cambridge, working on advanced defence and aerospace systems. The company develops new radar, sensing and communications technologies for real operational challenges, with projects moving quickly from early ideas through to working hardware and deployment.

Role: Radar RF Engineer

The Radar RF Engineer will work on specialist radar payloads and sensing systems used in areas such as air defence, counter-UAS and space situational awareness. The role covers the practical development of radar hardware, from initial architecture and circuit design through to prototyping, integration, testing and debugging.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Work across complete radar systems rather than being limited to one circuit or component.
    • Collaborate with antenna, electronics, signal processing, mechanical and systems specialists throughout the development process.

Ideal Candidate

Our client is looking for someone with strong radar fundamentals and genuine hands-on experience building, testing and troubleshooting radar circuits or systems.

  • Qualifications
    • Degree in electronics, electrical engineering or a related discipline.
    • Confidence to solve technical problems in the laboratory rather than relying purely on simulation.

  • Desirable Experience
    • Radar modelling, antenna development or radar signal processing would be valuable, but the main priority is practical radar hardware experience.
