Together we are creating truly impactful quantum computers. We are looking to hire an RF - System Designer within the electronics/RF team to enable Quantum technologies. Passionate about helping create technologies which can change the world? We may be the right place for you so get in touch!
What You'll Accomplish
- Lead the design and architecture activities for complete RF delivery system including transmission lines to the quantum chip.
- Set the spec for each key building block of the end-to-end RF delivery system.
- Oversee all RF aspects of design, simulation, testing methodologies, integration, verification, and testing.
- Document RF, and verification tests comprehensively.
- Expand your expertise across various engineering domains.
- Collaborate with RF team members, electronics engineers, ASIC/chip designers, mechanical engineers, software engineers, and physicists to achieve common goals.
- Ensure the use of cutting-edge RF solutions.
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
- Participate in project planning, risk management, and scheduling.
- Contribute to rapid proof-of-concept developments and feasibility discussions.

Requirements
The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates
- Extensive RF front and backend system design experience (VHF - X-band).
- Proven hands-on experience in designing complex commercial RF systems from concept to delivery, including proficiency with FEA tools, particularly Ansys Maxwell and HFSS.
- Solid leadership skills: bring an empathetic mindset, embed engineering best practices, and support the team.
Must-have Skills
- At least 15 to 20 years of practical experience in RF design and/or system engineering.
- Strong understanding of RF hardware design principles.
- Knowledge of RFIC and MMIC design principles.
- Expertise in developing and executing test plans for complex RF systems.
- Knowledge of low-noise design techniques and testing low-noise RF systems.
- Demonstrated success in bringing RF subsystem designs to market.
- Proficiency with FEA tools, especially Ansys Maxwell and HFSS.
- Experience working with suppliers and contractors.
- Strong documentation skills.
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A minimum of a 2.1 BEng/BSc Degree in System or Electronics Engineering or a related field.

Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience in analogue design.
- PCB design experience (VHF-X-band).
- Familiarity with the RF vendor supply chain.
- Pragmatic approach to decision-making and design choices.
- Experience in team and/or project management.
