Vacancy: RGN Deputy Manager
Location: The Old Downs Care Home, Castle Hill, Longfield DA3 7BH
Contracted Hours: 2 x 12 hrs shifts on the floor and 2 x 8hrs supernumerary days
Salary: To be discussed upon application/interview depending on skillset & experience
We are looking for a positive, motivated, and experienced RGN Deputy Manager to join our friendly and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate nurse who enjoys leading others and delivering outstanding, person-centred care.
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the Nursing Home. You will demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of person-centred, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Leading and supervising the care team, including staff induction and ongoing support
- Administering and managing medication, including ordering and audits
- Liaising with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure cohesive care
- Assessing and planning new admissions to the home
- Monitor standards of care and ensure compliance with policies and best practice
- Supervise, mentor, and induct new and junior staff members
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, visitors, and external healthcare professionals
- Manage your workload effectively while maintaining high standards at all times

What We’re Looking For
- RGN qualification with a valid NMC registration
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the UK
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership or senior nursing role
- Up-to-date clinical skills and knowledge
- A compassionate, caring, and professional approach
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to nurture, develop, and inspire staff
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently
- Confidence liaising with external agencies and healthcare professionals
