You will be joining a friendly and supportive Rheumatology Department which provides comprehensive Rheumatology services for Derby and Burton together with South Derbyshire/East Staffordshire and some parts of adjoining areas of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
About the Role
The Rheumatology Department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Nurse to work within the Rheumatology team.
We are a progressive, forward-thinking department with a positive approach at meeting and delivering the current challenges of the NHS. The Rheumatology Nursing Team work alongside the consultant rheumatologist, specialist pharmacist, and specialist therapist.
Key Responsibilities
Under direction of the Lead Specialist Nurse
- Deliver care to a defined case load of patients in an outpatient setting
- Conduct nurse-led clinics
- Act as the patients' advocate - maintaining patient privacy and dignity
- Provide advice, support, and education to patients/significant others
- Provide advice and support to junior staff and learners
- Coordinate care with the MDT, including consultants, allied health professionals, and primary care services
