Position: 3D Rigging Specialist
Type: Contract
Compensation: $15 - $80/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
Role Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and refine hand-focused character rigs suitable for animation and simulation within 3D environments.
- Collaborate with creative and technical stakeholders to ensure rig functionality aligns with project objectives and artistic vision.
- Deliver precise weight painting, joint placement, and deformation solutions specifically tailored to realistic or stylized hand movement.
- Assess and troubleshoot rigging issues, optimizing for usability and animation fluidity.
- Document rigging processes, workflows, and tool usage to facilitate knowledge transfer and reproducibility.
- Provide high-quality written and verbal feedback on rigging assignments and participate in remote discussions as needed for project clarity.

Requirements
- Proven expertise in character rigging, with a portfolio or sample work featuring complex hand and finger articulation.
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, especially hand structure, and experience translating it into functional rigs for animation purposes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to clear documentation and collaborative problem-solving.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation for rigging pipelines is a plus.
- Experience delivering remote project work or participating in distributed creative assignments.
