Our Right Turn Service works with individuals who cause harm, helping them to understand their behaviour, take accountability, and develop healthier relationships.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Case Worker to join our Right Turn team. The successful candidate will work directly with individuals who have displayed harmful behaviours, providing one-to-one support, undertaking assessments, developing intervention plans, and managing risk to promote lasting behavioural change.
You will have experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or complex family situations, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and a strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, and multi-agency working.
Some evening work may be required to facilitate groupwork, usually with a maximum of one evening per week (until 7pm).
Main Duties Of The Role
- Undertake and review risk assessment, needs assessment and develop action plans to manage and reduce identified risks in line with case management policies and procedures.
- Carry a caseload and provide suitable intervention based on the needs of the client i.e. 1 to 1, groupwork and advocacy.
- Work closely with Integrated support services to ensure the safety of victims is priority.
- To ensure the protection of adults and children through effective and timely safeguarding reports as appropriate to the level of potential harm.
- Build positive relationships with partner agencies to provide the best outcomes for Women and children at risk of harm from clients who abuse.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a working environment in which diversity is respected and equality of opportunity is promoted.

Casework
- Promote and act as a strong advocate for the safety of victims and their children whilst working with the perpetrator of abuse
- Work within the local safeguarding procedures and liaise with other agencies as appropriate.
- Conduct assessments of risk, needs and suitability for service and address any barriers to encouraging honest and open communication.
- Maintain appropriate client records, keeping accurate notes in line with case note guidance.
- To facilitate/ co facilitate structured violence intervention groupwork.
General Responsibilities
- Attend and take part in joint practitioners’ meetings regarding the progress of clients/service users and issues arising form work with partners, in order to ensure the safety of families, remains at the forefront of the work Right Turn provides.
- Complete all information gathering including demographics, abuse inventories etc to enable monitoring and data management and reporting.
- Carry out all work with reference to WWiN policies, procedures, and values.
- Identify and undertake appropriate training to ensure continuous professional development.
- Undertake other duties by agreement with your line manager as appropriate.
- Provide day to day support and advice to other workers/volunteers.
- To assist in representing Right Turn as required at meetings and conferences.

Qualifications And Experience We Require
- Experience supporting individuals in a domestic abuse setting.
- Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on adults and children.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage complex cases.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a caseload effectively.
- Good partnership and multi-agency working skills.
