About the Team and Role

The Risk Team plays a key role in supporting Inigo's objectives by providing independent oversight of the risks facing the business. Working across all functions, the team helps ensure risks are identified, assessed, managed and reported effectively, while supporting informed decision-making and a strong risk culture.

The small, hands-on team is responsible for maintaining Inigo's Enterprise Risk Management Framework, overseeing risk appetite, coordinating the ORSA process, supporting regulatory requirements, and providing meaningful risk insight to management and the Board including on the business plan and new strategic developments.

The Risk Analyst will support the delivery and continuous improvement of Inigo's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early career risk professional to gain broad exposure across all areas of risk management within a Lloyd's market insurer.

The role will work closely with Risk Champions, Risk Owners, and Control Owners across Inigo, supporting the risk management framework of risk identification, assessment, and monitoring. The Risk analyst will support reporting activities while contributing to key regulatory and governance processes, providing assurance to Inigo’s Board and regulators, supporting delivering the strategy.

The successful candidate will do this by:

  • Contributing to the continuous embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and governance by:

    • Supporting the ongoing operation and development of the ERMF.
    • Maintaining the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool, Decision Focus, including the day-to-day management of the relationship with the vendor.
    • Coordinating the quarterly Risk and Control self-assessment (RCSA) across Inigo.
    • Developing an approach for monitoring key risk and control indicators to mature the RCSA process, where appropriate utilising AI to streamline data analysis.
    • Helping to maintain risk management policies, procedures, and supporting documentation.
    • Contributing to the emerging risk identification process, ensuring outputs are integrated into the wider risk management framework.
  • Working with the business to monitor and mature Risk Appetite including:

    • Supporting the monitoring of risk appetite metrics and tolerance levels.
    • Supporting the preparation, coordination, and delivery of high-quality reporting and documentation for internal committees including producing regular risk reports, dashboards, and committee papers and the preparation of risk appetite summaries.
    • Demonstrating critical thinking by reviewing existing reporting and helping refine the approach to risk analysis and reporting across Inigo’s management committees.

  • Supporting the CRO and Risk Manager in the ORSA and Stress and Scenario testing processes including:

    • Inputting to the annual ORSA report.
    • Assisting with developing and running stress and scenario tests.
    • Supporting the analysis of scenario outputs for inclusion into reporting materials.
  • Working in a collaborative way with the business and to embed the risk culture through:

    • Delivery of risk workshops, risk assessments, and control reviews.
    • Inputting to thematic risk assessments, for example, new underwriting products.
    • Ownership of risk training activities to new joiners and existing staff.
    • Building effective relationships across Inigo.
  • Providing support as required on internal model governance and validation activities including:

    • Assisting the delivery of the operational risk scenario assessment process, ensuring comprehensive effective stress testing.
    • Assisting the CRO in overseeing the validation process.

To do this, we’re going to need you to bring:

  • Experience in risk management within a financial services regulated entity, preferably with Lloyd’s experience.
  • Experience of co-ordinating risk register and risk appetite updates.
  • The ability to analyse risk management information and summarise in high-quality reporting.
  • A desire to operate in a small ‘hands-on’ team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage others in risk and build the right risk culture across the business.
  • A relentless curiosity along with excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and prioritise effectively.
