Role Information

Location: Filton or Stroud Campus

FTE Salary: Up to £28,050.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time

Working Hours: Up to 18.5 hours per week

We have an exciting role of Risk and Compliance Advisor within our Finance team!

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Support the DPO in monitoring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR and other data protection laws, College data protection policies, awareness-raising, training and audits.
  • Log, track, and monitor deadlines for all Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Subject Access Requests (SARs).
  • Maintain the College's Data Breach Register, Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) Register and Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) as directed by the DPO.
  • Format and update departmental risk registers under the direction of the Head of Risk and Compliance.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education (e.g., GCSEs/A-Levels or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Experience maintaining accurate logs, registers, databases, or tracking systems.
  • Experience handling confidential information with high levels of discretion.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when typing and proofreading data.
