Job Details:

Salary Range: £32,061 - £33,699 per annum

Work Location: HIWFRS HQ, Eastleigh (Hybrid Working)

Hours per week: 37

Contract Type: Permanent

Closing Date: 30 August 2026

Are you a highly organised professional with excellent attention to detail and a passion for procurement and risk management?

We are looking for a proactive Risk and Procurement Officer to join our Corporate Governance and Support team and play a key role in supporting risk management and procurement activities across the Service.


About the Role:

As Risk and Procurement Officer, you will support the delivery of effective risk management and procurement processes that help ensure the Service meets its statutory obligations and strategic objectives. Working closely with the Business Support Manager, you will provide expert advice, maintain key systems and records, develop guidance and training materials, and act as a central point of contact for enquiries.


Key Responsibilities - Procurement

  • Support compliance with procurement legislation and best practice
  • Support colleagues in maintaining the Service's contracts register
  • Provide procurement and contract management guidance to staff
  • Develop procurement training and supporting documentation
  • Act as the first point of contact for procurement enquiries

  • Provide advice and support to managers on the Service's risk management framework and systems
  • Maintain risk management information, dashboards and reporting mechanisms
  • Ensure risk data is accurate, current and effectively communicated
  • Support preparation of reports for the Fire Authority
  • Develop and deliver risk management guidance and training packages

About You:

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A basic understanding of Procurement legislation
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to high-quality service
