Risk Associate

We’re working with an established financial services business looking for a Risk Associate to join its Risk, Compliance & Oversight function.

This is a varied second-line role, supporting the business in effectively identifying, understanding and managing risk. You’ll work across different areas of the organisation, combining risk oversight, data analysis, control monitoring and financial crime.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and oversight of risk and control frameworks.
  • Analysing risk data and producing meaningful management information.
  • Helping business teams identify, assess, log and manage risks.
  • Monitoring incidents and supporting the assessment of potential data protection breaches.
  • Coordinating control testing and monitoring activities.
  • Supporting financial crime monitoring and reviews.
  • Producing risk reporting and MI for senior management.
  • Supporting and developing risk management systems and processes.
  • Providing risk input into wider business projects where required.

About You

  • Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Is confident working with and interrogating data.
  • Has strong Excel skills and can manipulate data to identify trends and insights.
  • Has an understanding of risk management within financial services.
  • Has exposure to financial crime processes and controls.
  • Can work independently, use their initiative and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Takes a solutions-focused approach and is comfortable challenging existing processes.
  • Communicates confidently with stakeholders across a business.
