Risk Business Partner - Fintech
Location: London or Cheltenham
Salary: Circa £80,000 + 10% annual bonus

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Risk Business Partner to join a growing Group Risk function. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior business leaders, acting as a trusted adviser and strategic partner to help drive informed decision-making and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Risk Business Partners, you will work in partnership with a designated business unit, providing high-quality risk analysis, insights, and guidance to support strategic and operational objectives within the organisation's risk appetite.
As the dedicated Risk Partner and a member of the business unit's extended leadership team, you will lead the risk agenda, influencing decision-making at senior levels while maintaining oversight of the business unit's risk profile. You will play a key role in embedding effective risk management practices, strengthening resilience, and ensuring risk considerations are integrated into day-to-day operations, transformation initiatives, and strategic planning.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a mature and evolving risk framework within a technology-driven, fast-paced environment.

About You
You are an experienced Risk professional with a strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels. You combine technical risk expertise with commercial awareness and are comfortable challenging, advising and partnering with senior leaders.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in a business-facing risk role, partnering with senior leaders.
- Background in technology, software, fintech, financial services, or professional services advisory environments.
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and governance practices.
- Experience implementing and embedding risk frameworks, policies and controls.
- Proven ability to influence Executive and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex risks into practical business recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive and board-level reporting.
- Strong stakeholder management, collaboration and project management capabilities.

Desirable
- Experience working within a global or matrix-structured organisation.
- Knowledge of IT risk, cyber security and operational resilience frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP or similar.
