AML Compliance Specialist – M&A Support (Fixed-Term Contract)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract – initially 4 months, with potential extension to 6 months

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day (standard 8:45am–5:15pm, flexible)

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced AML/Financial Crime Compliance professional to join a growing organisation's Risk & Compliance function. This role is critical to supporting an active M&A transaction, ensuring that newly acquired businesses are brought up to speed on AML, Counter Fraud, and wider Financial Crime compliance requirements.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of the AML, Counter Fraud, and Financial Crime compliance framework, with a particular focus on businesses newly acquired as part of ongoing M&A activity
  • Conduct hands-on KYC due diligence, including:
    • Ongoing monitoring for straightforward client relationships
    • Leading due diligence for complex cases, including clients with overseas ownership structures
  • Identify the verifications and evidence required for due diligence, and support colleagues in obtaining and documenting these
  • Act as a point of guidance for colleagues on AML, financial crime, regulatory compliance, and risk-related queries
  • Perform control testing, monitoring, and QA reviews across AML and financial crime processes; document findings and support the implementation of remedial actions
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate potential financial crime risks, suspicious activity, or regulatory breaches in line with policy
  • Champion a strong culture of compliance and risk awareness through proactive stakeholder engagement across the business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
