Job Description

Aberdeen plc is one of Europe’s largest investment companies, and we are built on a long-standing culture of caring about the future and making a positive impact. Together we invest for a better future. We do it to make a difference to the lives of our clients and customers, our employees, society, and our shareholders. Our business is structured around three distinct areas focused on our clients' changing needs: Aberdeen Investments, Aberdeen Adviser, and interactive investor.

As a Risk & Compliance Coordinator, you will play an important role in helping our Risk & Compliance function operate effectively, supporting the governance and decision-making processes that help Aberdeen deliver better outcomes for clients.

About the Department

Risk & Compliance plays a critical role in supporting Aberdeen’s long-term success by helping the business make informed decisions, manage risk effectively and maintain strong governance standards. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, the team provides oversight, coordination and support that helps ensure our business operates responsibly and efficiently. The culture is collaborative, supportive and focused on continuous improvement.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and ambitious coordinator or administrator looking to develop their career within a high-profile corporate function. Working within the Risk & Compliance team, you will provide operational, governance and administrative support, with a particular focus on supporting the Risk & Compliance Leadership Team. You will act as a central point of coordination across multiple stakeholders, helping to ensure key governance activities, reporting requirements and day-to-day operations are delivered efficiently and consistently. Alongside gaining exposure to senior leaders across the business, you will benefit from opportunities to build new skills, including the use of AI-enabled tools, while developing towards more advanced executive support and coordination responsibilities over time. Based in Edinburgh, this permanent position offers the chance to invest in your tomorrow through meaningful experience, professional development and valuable networking opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
