Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a Risk & Compliance Counsel to join its New Business & Conflicts team on a permanent basis.

The firm is recognised for its innovative approach, collaborative culture and commitment to delivering exceptional client service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a sophisticated Risk & Compliance function and work closely with senior stakeholders across the firm’s international platform.
The Opportunity
This Risk & Compliance Counsel position sits within the New Business & Conflicts team, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing ethical, contractual and business risks associated with new client onboarding, new matters and lateral hires.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and resolving complex conflicts of interest arising from new business intake and lateral hiring processes
- Advising Partners and lawyers on conflicts, ethical obligations and professional conduct matters
- Reviewing and assessing potential risks associated with new clients, new matters and business opportunities
- Advising on engagement terms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm policies
- Drafting conflict waivers and establishing ethical walls where required
- Supporting the development and delivery of training programmes on conflicts, compliance and risk management policies
- Supporting the continuous improvement of conflicts and intake procedures, including the use of systems such as Intapp Conflicts, Intake, Terms and Walls

This Risk & Compliance Counsel position is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (6 PQE+)
- 3+ years’ experience within a law firm Risk, Compliance, Conflicts, New Business Intake or Office of General Counsel environment
- Strong knowledge of conflicts of interest processes, professional conduct requirements and client onboarding procedures
