Overview of the role
Bestway Healthcare are expanding their Audit, Risk & Compliance team and are looking for an Investigator to help protect the business from financial loss, fraud, theft and control weaknesses.
Reporting to the Compliance & Investigations Manager, you will play a key role in identifying concerns, conducting thorough investigations and delivering evidence-based outcomes. Working across a diverse retail and healthcare environment, you will use data, investigative techniques and stakeholder engagement to support fair, objective and confidential investigations while helping to strengthen controls and reduce future risk.
This is a national, field based role that will require occasional overnight stays. The role will require a mixture of site visits and home working. Therefore flexibility to travel is essential. A company car will be provided as part of the overall package. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations into potential fraud, theft, misconduct and business loss.
- Analyse business data, exception reports and other evidence to identify areas of concern.
- Gather, review and assess evidence from multiple sources, including CCTV footage and business systems.
- Conduct investigative interviews in line with company policies and procedures.
- Produce clear, factual and evidence-based investigation reports with practical recommendations.
- Manage investigations from initial review through to conclusion, ensuring accurate documentation throughout.
- Support loss recovery activities and liaise with external partners where required.
- Identify control weaknesses and contribute to improvements that reduce future risk.
- Maintain accurate case records and management information to support reporting and governance.
- Attend court proceedings on behalf of the business when required.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience conducting workplace investigations, evidence gathering, data analysis or operational assurance activities within a regulated or compliance-focused environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify anomalies and reach balanced, evidence-based conclusions.
- Understanding of investigation best practice, confidentiality requirements and fair process principles.
- Experience conducting structured investigative interviews and producing clear written reports.
- CCTV operative knowledge – experience reviewing footage to detect theft or fraud.
- Experience working with third parties such as a police and governing bodies.
- Desirable- WZ Investigative Interview Training or equivalent
- Desirable – knowledge of failure to prevent fraud legislation

Full UK drivers license is essential as the role will require regular travel to sites across the country.
