Risk and Compliance Lawyer
We are working with a Top 200 UK law firm to hire a Risk and Compliance Lawyer for their growing team. In this role you will gain hands-on experience across data protection, anti-money laundering, regulatory compliance, and firmwide risk management.
The firm is looking for a proactive professional with a law degree or equivalent legal training and a genuine interest in risk and regulatory frameworks. Candidates must possess exceptional attention to detail, a methodical work ethic, and confident communication skills to collaborate effectively across multiple office locations. The ideal candidate will combine an eager, adaptable mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of tasks in a fast-paced professional environment.

Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day data protection compliance, including handling data subject access requests and assisting with potential breach responses.
- Supporting the Data Protection Officer on broader regulatory privacy issues and general data governance.
- Assisting with client onboarding processes by conducting thorough anti-money laundering and know-your-customer checks.
- Managing the central team inbox to address and resolve day-to-day operational risk inquiries.
- Assisting in handling professional negligence claims, related circumstances, and drafting formal responses to client complaints.
- Drafting, reviewing, and updating internal policies, operational procedures, and risk control mechanisms.
- Performing file audits and internal compliance reviews to ensure adherence to professional regulatory standards.
- Contributing to firmwide risk projects to strengthen operational controls and support business growth.
