Risk & Compliance Officer
We are working with a leading law firm with a strong focus on private client and real estate work to recruit a Risk & Compliance Officer. You’ll support the firm’s Risk & Compliance team, helping ensure robust client due diligence and compliance with anti-money laundering requirements.
The firm is looking for someone with experience in anti-money laundering compliance in a law firm. Experience in private client or commercial real estate work would be an advantage. You’ll bring strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication, sound organisation and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the firm’s client due diligence procedures, with an initial focus on ongoing monitoring obligations under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
- Reviewing new and existing client matter files to check that client opening, file maintenance and customer due diligence procedures have been followed.
- Responding to anti-money laundering queries from fee earners and secretaries, escalating matters to the Compliance Manager, Head of Risk and Compliance or MLRO when appropriate.
- Researching complex anti-money laundering queries and providing opinions as directed by the Compliance Manager.
- Keeping the Compliance Manager informed and promptly raising problems or potential compliance concerns.
- Providing monthly updates to the wider Compliance team on issues raised and trends identified.
- Supporting fee-earning teams to build their anti-money laundering knowledge and embed good practice.
