Are you passionate about using data and analytics to solve complex insurance challenges? Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your insights directly shape client outcomes? If so, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for. At Swiss Re, we're seeking a Risk Consultant to join our Risk Consulting & Analytics team — someone who brings analytical rigour, consulting capability, and a genuine enthusiasm for making a meaningful impact across the insurance industry.

About the Role

As a Risk Consultant, you will play an important role in delivering analytics-led consulting engagements for our insurance clients across EMEA. Working alongside experienced consultants, insurance experts, and data scientists, you will take ownership of analytical workstreams, translate complex data into actionable insights, and contribute directly to client recommendations.

This role offers the opportunity to build your consulting capabilities while developing deep expertise across areas such as pricing, underwriting, portfolio management, and profitable growth. As your experience grows, you will progressively take on greater responsibility for project delivery and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver analytics-led consulting engagements for P&C insurance clients, conducting technical analyses, interpreting results, and translating findings into clear, actionable client insights
  • Take ownership of defined analytical workstreams within Property & Casualty consulting projects, using internal and external data sources to generate meaningful recommendations
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplined project teams, working alongside consultants, insurance experts, and data scientists to drive effective and high-quality delivery
  • Partner with stakeholders across Swiss Re to develop new capabilities and data assets that enhance our consulting offering
  • Contribute to client recommendations by synthesising complex data into compelling, commercially relevant narratives
  • Progressively take on greater responsibility for project delivery and client engagement as your expertise and confidence grow

About the Team

Solutions is a central pillar of Swiss Re's reinsurance strategy — critical to the development of our core activities and the creation of new revenue streams. The Risk Consulting & Analytics (RCA) team, within the Risk Data Solutions division, is globally responsible for delivering consulting services to our clients. We unlock the power of data by providing insights and advice along the entire insurance value chain, partnering with clients to realise their strategic ambitions of growth, profitability, and efficiency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
