The Opportunity

Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) is looking for an ambitious and customer-focused Account Engineer to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the UK's and world's leading organisations, helping them build resilience, reduce risk and protect critical assets. As a trusted adviser, you will influence risk management strategies, shape business decisions and deliver measurable value through Zurich's market-leading risk engineering expertise.

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of key accounts, building long-term customer relationships and coordinating complex risk engineering programmes. Working closely with customers, brokers, underwriters and business leaders, you'll balance technical excellence with commercial insight to deliver outstanding customer outcomes while supporting business growth.

The role is home-based with regular UK travel and occasional international travel in support of global customer programmes.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job-share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Why Join Us?

At Zurich, our Account Engineers do far more than conduct surveys. They act as trusted consultants, helping customers make informed decisions, improve resilience and protect their businesses. In return, you'll gain exposure to complex risks, global organisations and exciting career development opportunities within one of the world's leading insurers.

What you’ll be doing?

As an Account Engineer, you will act as the trusted risk consultant for a portfolio of key customer accounts, spending approximately 60% of your time building embedded customer relationships and helping organisations achieve their risk management and resilience objectives.

You will develop and deliver customer service strategies that reduce loss, drive risk improvement and create measurable business value. Combining on-site and desktop assessments with strategic account management, you will coordinate complex risk engineering programmes, oversee service plans and stewardship reviews, and provide clear, actionable risk insight.

Working closely with customers, brokers, underwriters and internal stakeholders, you will drive completion of risk improvement actions, manage programme delivery through Zurich's global network and demonstrate the value of Zurich Resilience Solutions through benchmarking, reporting and service reviews.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
