Risk & Control Analyst

Are you an ambitious Risk, Controls, or Assurance professional looking to make a visible impact within a leading multinational organisation?

Our client is seeking a high-caliber Risk & Control Analyst to join their expert team in Central London. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in transitioning the business from a traditional compliance-led approach to a proactive, performance-enabling internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Deployment & Operationalisation
    • Support the rollout and embedding of the organisation’s new Control Framework across finance and key operational risk areas.
  • Perform control assessments, walkthroughs, testing, and self-assessments
    • Verify control design, operational effectiveness, and process reliability.
  • Identify control gaps
    • Conduct root cause analyses, propose pragmatic solutions, and track remediation actions through to completion.
  • Act as a trusted advisor
    • Assist control owners across a matrix structure with training, change management, and building a proactive risk awareness culture.
  • Prepare robust reporting packs, dashboards, and control weakness impact analyses
    • Use digital tools to give management real-time visibility into risk trends.

  • Assurance & Audit Support
    • Assist in resolving internal and external audit findings by developing practical, value-adding action plans aligned with business priorities.

Required Experience & Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in internal controls, risk management, or assurance (internal/external), ideally combining practice and in-house roles in complex or project-driven environments.
  • Prior experience in Big 4 business assurance or risk consulting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial/operational control environments, governance codes (e.g., UK Provision 29 or SOX), and control reperformance (financial and non-financial).
  • Tech-savvy with experience using analytics and reporting tools (such as Power BI, SAP/S4HANA, or dedicated risk platforms).
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives.
  • Sector Knowledge: Exposure to construction, engineering, or infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential.
